Stitch Featival

On Thursday I took a trip to London to visit the Stitch Festival a place full of inspirational sewing and crafting ideas.
I started the Alda you with a talk by Esme Young a teacher at CSM and a judge on the Great British Sewing Bee. She talked about her life and career in the fashion industry and it was so interesting and inspiring. There was small exhibit with some examples of her work which were amazing to look at too!

Then after a bite to eat I took my time wondering around all of the stalls selling beautiful fabrics, fascinating sewing machines and so much more. There were lots of demonstrations to watch and to learn from too!  I could of spent a fortune the stunning fabrics but I managed to resist.

The one thing I could not resist was a stand demonstrating how to create marble art it room my imagination and fascinated me so much I had to buy a kit and try it out for myself. Look out for that probably on my art page.

Overall it was a fun, inspiring and educational day and I would definitely recommend!

Don’t forget to check out my Store too for some handmade art and Cards!

Cute Cardies

Cardigans the item your nan knitted you, the itchy one you had to where to school. But now thats all changed....
While shopping yesterday the stores are flooded with the cutest cardies. So chic and easy to style.

Pick the cardi of your choice go baggy for a laid back look or tight so a more causaly sophisticated look, and then grabs those easy jeans and pair of boots or trainers. Job done!
No need for a top just a button it up or if your prone to a chill throw on a cami or bralette underneath the easiest comfy and chic outfit these spring! And there are so many choices here are some of my favourite!

How to Sew Inseam Pockets

I love to sew and as I was sewing a piece for my online store (Abbys Art Atelier) I thought I would share how to sew a inseam pockets.  You will need some sewing experience and a skirt or trouser pattern cut and sewn with the dart if required are in and no further.

1.
Once you have your skirt or trouser sew the pocket bag to the side seam of the skirt where the pattern has notched where it should be placed. And repeat this on the side of both front pieces and and back pieces if required on both sides if not just one back and one front.
